This extensively altered building, constructed in 1921, was originally a manufacturing warehouse, Located in the former Seattle tidelands, it is associated with the development of the area as a significant transportation-related manufacturing and warehouse district. The tidelands were filled through a series of successive grading and fill projects between 1895 and 1929, creating developable land that made the expansion of railroad and port facilities possible and fostering the development of the area for commercial and industrial use that supported significant economic progress of the city in the early 20th century.

| Appearance |
This reinforced concrete building has been extensively renovated and bears little resemblance to the original construction. The original brick clad building was a one and two-story loft type industrial warehouse. Originally the building presented both a flat roof with a parapet and a clear span front gable-roofed portion that extended above the parapet at the primary elevation and had a large star in the gable. This portion took up three of the building's nine bays on the primary elevation, was supported by steel trusses and housed an electric crane. Two stories have been added, altering the rooflines. All original windows have been altered.
