This is an example of the Stick style variant of Queen Anne architecture that exhibits a high degree of integrity despite changes to the entry porch and modifications to the fenestration and cladding.
This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattleās Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.
A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property. The current owner acquired the property from Howard R. Gorlick in 1996.

Appearance |
The house was built in 1890 (King County Property Record Card; the King County GIS Center Property Report, accessed July 22, 2008, gives the year built as 1900). An early addition is shown on the floor plan sketch provided on the Property Record Card.
The house appears to have been a single family residence when surveyed by the King County Assessor in 1937. It was later converted to a triplex but now functions as a duplex. |
