Significance
This is a simple example of Queen Anne - Free Classic design. The structure’s design integrity has been compromised by replacement of the windows, refurbishment of the cladding, and the addition of a detached garage.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property.

Appearance
This is a one-and-a-half story, shingle clad, wood frame single-family residence on a concrete foundation, over a full basement. The essentially rectangular plan is capped by a gable roof with minimal overhangs and enclosed] soffits.

This house was built in 1904.

Most of the windows have been replaced and decorative shutters have been added. the original glazed entry door has been replaced with a six panel door. The shingle siding has been replaced in kind but with a somewhat smaller exposure. The chimney has been modified. The single story shed roofed element at the west end may be an early addition or renovated porch. A garage building has been added in the front yard at the northwest corner of the site.
