Significance
This is an example of transitional architecture combining elements of Shingle style and Craftsman design. The structure’s design integrity has been somewhat compromised by alterations to the porch.

This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property.

Appearance
This structure has shingle style gables and porch piers and bays typical of Queen Anne design but features bracketing and exposed rafter tails more typical of the Craftsman style.

This house was built in 1904.

Two-thirds of the front porch has been enclosed. The deck over the porch appears to be original. There appears to be a minor addition at the back. The
There are new windows at the porch enclosure. The others appear original but may have been refurbished. The siding has been modified to accommodate minor changes. The chimney has been altered.
