This is a example of American Foursquare architecture with Queen Anne style windows but early twentieth century detailing exhibiting a high degree of design integrity despite some minor alterations.
This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.
A complete permit history, and a complete record of ownership and occupation have not yet been prepared for this property.

| Appearance |
This is a one-and-a-half story, clapboard and shingle clad, wood frame single-family residence on what appears to be a concrete foundation (though the King County Property Record Card indicates that the house has a post and beam foundation). The structure is built over a half basement. The porch may have originally been built on a post and beam foundation but now appears to have a concrete foundation.
The plan, which is rectangular at the main level but cruciform at the upper level, is capped by a hip roof with extensive overhangs, open soffits, and exposed rafter tails. The cruciform upper floor plan is expressed at the exterior as large hip roofed dormers with extensive overhangs.
The the large, cottage style windows and the doors are characterized by patterns and details customarily associated with Queen Anne architecture. The four-square form and horizontal emphasis are more typical of early twentieth century work, particularly the Prairie style, while the exposed rafter tails in the extensive overhangs are a signature feature of the Craftsman style. The heavy bracketing at the porch give the structure a slight Italianate or "Spanish Colonial" flavor.
This house was built in 1905 according to the King County Property Record Card and the King County GIS Center Property Report.
Roof windows have been added. Some windows appear to have been replaced or altered at the south side of the house. The original wood entry stairs have been replaced by concrete stairs. Added facia boards and gutters have hidden the ends of the exposed rafter tails.
