This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods. The structure is located in a portion of the Central Area also known as the East Madison district.

| Appearance |
There is an early single-story shed roof addition at the rear. One window appears to have been removed and replaced. The gable shingles appear to have been replaced in kind. The porch has been altered. Full height turned posts have replaced half height square posts at the outside corners; turned baluster railings have replaced the original, clapboard clad solid railings, railings have been added to the entry stair, and the original spindlework entablature has been removed.
