This is one of approximately 2,200 houses that are still extant out of more than 5,000 that were built by the end of 1906 in Seattle’s Central Area, Eastlake, First Hill, Leschi, Madison Park, Madrona, and North Capitol Hill neighborhoods.

| Appearance |
The cross gable roof and spindlework detailing at the wrap-around porch identify this small structure as an example of Queen Anne -- Cottage design.
This house was built in 1892 according to the King County Property Record Card; however, the King County GIS Center Property Report indicates that the structure was built in 1900 (it should be noted that the computer database from which the latter date is drawn cannot record a construction date earlier than 1900).
The structure could not be adequately surveyed because it is almost impossible to observe from the street. There is an early addition at the back end of the structure. The structure was clad for a time after the late 1950s with composition "brick veneer" siding but appears to have been returned to its original appearance.
