Appearance
The open soffits and coordinated corner boards and wood trim banding are suggestive of Queen Anne -- Stick design. The small scale of the structure is more typical of Queen Anne -- Cottage architecture. The house initially featured spindlework detailing which is often associated with Cottage design. The Tuscan columns at the entry porch give the structure a slight Free Classic flavor

This house was built in 1886 according to the King County Property Record Card; however, the King County GIS Center Property Report indicates that the structure was built in 1901 (it should be noted that the computer database from which the latter date is drawn cannot record a construction date earlier than 1900).

There is an unusual non-rectangular 1950s ranch style addition at the far west end of this structure. A hip roofed structure between this element and the main house appears to be a much earlier addition. Some of the windows may have been replaced in kind. Ornate grills have been added to the south facing windows. The roof soffits have been rebuilt. The turned baluster porch railing and the spindlework that originally decorated the soffit of the porch entablature have been lost.
