Appearance
This is a vernacular structure (pyramidal family, national folk housing) with some spindlework detailing suggestive of Queen Anne -- Cottage design.

This house was built in 1900 according to both the King County Property Record Card and the King County GIS Center Property Report.

Although the house can be viewed from the south (the south line of the property on which is situated coincides with the north margin of Lake Washington Boulevard just east of the point where the boulevard intersects Yesler Way), the property appears to be accessed from the north (E. Huron Street) and is also addressed as 3441 E. Huron Street.

There is an early addition at the back (north) side of the structure. A concrete block foundation replaced the original post-and-pier foundation about 1955 and a quarter basement was added at that time. The small dormer visible in the Assessor's photo of 1937 has been expanded and three additional dormers appear to have been added or expanded as well. Several new window openings appear to have been added at the main level and at least half of the dormer windows are not original. The house was clad with composition shake siding for a time following 1955; however, the main level of the structure has been returned to condition resembling its original appearance; the dormers, some of which were originally smaller and clad with shingles, have been sided to match the house.
