Significance

[Very Altered: Original wooden facade reclad in metal siding and windows also replaced. This building originally appears to have  served as addition or wing of the industrial shed building, now at 2462 1st S, which is much more intact and is also now considered part of another parcel.


Occupied first by D. A. Johnson Hardwood Company and, at the end of World War II, by Sherman Supply, a well-known Seattle plumbing supplier. Sherman Supply stayed for “ 6 decades.” until it was asked to leave,  to accommodate the Link Light Rail, (which wound up not affecting the property, after all).
