Significance

McAllister's Addition, Block: 14, Lot 9.  

This single family house dates from 1930.It has retained all of its characteristic detailing and its integrity, particularly on the main façade and the small west wing.  In 1931, Margaret A. Slonnfeltz owned the building.


 
Appearance

This one-story single family house is located slightly east of the northeast corner of First Avenue South and Lucile St.  The building exterior is characterized by the repetition of a clipped gable form, which occurs on the main roof, on a slightly lower wing to the west and on over the eastern bay of the façade. The main entry porch also has a distinctive overhang, which includes a small projecting gable, which surmounts an arched form, with small ornamental brackets set below. As shown in early photos, windows are double hung. On the eastern bay, here is a row of three good-sized windows, set below the clipped gable shape. To the west of the entry  porch there are two smaller paired windows. The slightly lower and recessed wing has one full-sized double-hung window.
