Significance |
|
This two-story residence was built in 1927 and is an intact and good example of a Tudor Revival. It is associated with 1920s-era development in the Montlake area. It retains its original features and character and is a contributing resource to the Montlake NRHP Historic District.
This one-and-half story bungalow is irregular in plan and has a clipped side-gable roof with return eaves and two eyelid dormers with original sash on the front. Cladding is original wood clapboard. The façade is symmetrical with a central projecting concrete entry porch with clipped front-gable hood supported by large carved bracket supports. The original wood door is flanked by leaded glass sidelights. Windows flanking the entry are fixed wood sash flanked by casements with divided light transoms above. Similar windows are on the side elevations. A brick chimney projects from the center of the roof. The house sits above the street on a small lot with planted rockery and large hedge across the front. A two- track driveway leads to a small gabled detached garage (1924) with an infilled door and new entry in the southwest corner
