Seattle Historical Sites

This 1-story commercial building was constructed in 1951, according to the King County Assessor, in the Uptown neighborhood. The building appears to have originally housed Northwest Auto Supply.

Constructed in 1951, this concrete block commercial building is located on the northeast side of Elliott Avenue W just north of Fourth Avenue W. Due to the northwest–southeast running angle of Elliott Avenue W along this block, the main elevation of the building faces southwest.  The 1-story commercial building has a rectangular plan and stands on a poured concrete foundation. It has a flat roof with a parapet. The walls of the northwest, northeast, and southeast elevations are comprised of concrete block. The main (southwest) elevation features brick veneer. Pilasters frame the northwestern and southeastern ends of the main elevation. A curtain wall is centered within the elevation and contains the building’s primary entrance. The curtain wall originally extended uninterrupted up tot eh parapet; plywood now covers the upper portion of the curtain wall. Wood lap siding forms a cornice band. The front door features a wood door surround.

The building retains moderate integrity.
