Appearance

Constructed in 1981, this reinforced concrete professional office building encompasses nearly the entire triangular block bounded by W Harrison Street to the north, Elliott Avenue W to the southwest, and Third Avenue W to the east. The building’s site slopes down to the west and south from its northeast corner. The building at 300 Elliott Avenue W, originally known as the Elliott Avenue Office Park, is a typical 1980s office building with Brutalist style elements and has a flat roof with parapet. The 5-story building stands on a poured concrete foundation. The building has an irregular form. It’s northeast and southwest corners each feature a concave curve with the southwest curve deeper and broader. The northeast corner of the site features a tired planter with a curve, that reflects the curve of the building. The building features horizontal bands of windows with precast concrete spandrels. Brick veneer has been applied to the spandrels, but are laid vertically rather than horizontally. A penthouse mechanical unit caps the building.

The building retains integrity and is a distinctive example of a 1980s professional office building.
