This small (6500 square feet) church began as a mission established in 1910 by the Redemptorist Fathers, who ran the Sacred Heart Parish on Warren Avenue North near the present Seattle Center. This church was built shortly afterwards at 14th Avenue West and West Bertona, and was moved to this site on West Dravus Street in 1914. During the 1990s it was placed under St. Anne’s Parish on top of the hill. It is now the home of the city’s Polish Catholic community, and remains one of Seattle’s smaller and older Catholic churches.
The parish established a school in 1923. The school closed in 1971 and the site, adjacent to the church, was made into a garden in 1977; it is named Corboy Park for the long-time pastor. Behind the church is a stone shrine erected by the Polish community and dedicated in 1993.

| Appearance |
| This church is a simple religious vernacular structure, with a steep front gable roof and vinyl siding covering the original clapboard cladding. The simple square steeple, with a hip roof, rises in the center of the main (south) façade. Each side of the steeple has two large louvered vents, the major decorative element. The current entry is at the east side of the steeple, covered by a shed roof and directly accessible from the parking lot level. The original entry is below this, with newer arched doors and an arched hood with large brackets. Windows on the main level are arched stained glass; they appear to be intact, but are covered with storm windows. The west side, on the alley, rises two stories and has six-over-six windows on the basement level. At the northeast corner is an entry to the basement level, with an arched wood transom. |
