Significance
This house was built in 1907 for Theodore D. Weed. Theodore D. and Myrtle E. Weed lived in the house until 1927. Weed was the owner of Columbia Hardware Company and the president of City Sash and Door Co. Inc. The Weeds sold the house to Fred A. and Florence M. Tate in 1928. The Tates lived in the house until 1932. From 1933 until 1942 William and Florence M. Hatch lived in the house. The Hatches owned the Hatch & Hatch Fuel Company in Columbia City.
 
Appearance
This one and a half story vernacular house is of a wood frame construction and is supported by a concrete foundation. The house has a rectangular plan and a hip roof form. A prominent front gable is located on the west side of the front elevation. Hip roof dormers are located on the front and east side elevations. The front entrance is sheltered by a small front gable roof supported by decorative brackets. The house is clad in narrow clapboard siding. The fenestration consists of a combination of fixed pane windows with transoms and one-over-one single hung windows. Fixed pane windows with transoms flank the front door. The front gable extension features an expansive fixed pane window flanked by narrow fixed pane windows with transoms above. A bay window is located on the east side elevation.
