This building embodies the distinctive characteristics of a commercial vernacular building common in neighborhhood settings in the early 20th century. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and becausee it and its setting help create a historic streetscape at this visible corner of Dearborn and 26th Avenue. This building housed Reese Brothers Meats and Groceries in 1937.
 
Appearance
This commercial vernacular building is unusual for its curving east wall, which at the second level contributes a three-sided corner bay. The building is frame and has a simple cornice. It appears that the building had a corner storefront entrnace that was altered before 1937. A transomed storefront with center entrance faces Dearborn Street.
