Significance
This building reflects the changing character of 14th Avenue South, where the Beacon Hill streetcar line ran. This small store was built in 1930, attached to a pyramidal-roofed cottage dating back to 1905. The store building stands out for its classically-inspired design, with a gabled pediment over the main entry and fluted Doric pilasters at the corners and flanking the doorway. The building was owned from the 1930s into the 1960s by Charles W. Meyers, who lived in the house and operated a picture framing shop and small gallery for decades. It was purchased in 1965 by Ben J. Smith and is now owned by Gary Lee Smith. The store is now occupied by Beacon Hill Realty.

Appearance
This small (19x30 feet) store is attached to the southwest corner of a pyramidal-roofed cottage. The brick-clad store building has a projecting wood cornice across the front (west) elevation, capped with a gabled pediment. The entablature below the cornice is unadorned. The recessed entry is in the center, flanked by two tall display windows. Two square attached fluted columns with Doric capitals flank the entry. Two similar pilasters are at the corners. A very simple brick cornice extends along the north and south elevations, which have no windows.
