Significance
This building is one of several wood-frame structures that remain at this corner; they are typical of the type of commercial development that occurred along streetcar lines in the late 19th and early 20th century. They are reminders that this was an early commercial hub on Seattle's first streetcar line, going down Yesler Way and Jackson Street. According to Sanborn maps, the building was built about 1895 s a drugstore. Later photos from 1937 and 1951 confirm that it was the long-time location of Weed's Drugstore. M.A. Weed also acquired the adjacent buildings in 1912 and 1915.
 
Appearance
This two-story wood frame building has a distinctive cut-away corner entry with a cut-away window above; both openings have decorative scroll brackets. There is also strong decorative cornice. The original shingles were replaced with asbestos shingles, probablyin the 1950s. Aluminum windows have beneinstalled since the 1991 inventory was done.
