Significance
This elegant buidling anchors a small commercial district at the north end of Capitol Hill, conencting to the presitigious residneital area of Roanoke Park. Now the SR 520 freeway separates Roanoke Park from Capitol Hill and one muct cross the freeway For most of its hsitory. This buidling housed a grocery store, incluidng Safeway (1930s) and Tradwell (1940s. Other businesses have included a Van de Kamp's bakery, a Rexall drug store, and a radio repair shop. It curerenlty houses a small specialty market and three restaurant.
