Built By: Year Built: 1906

Significance
In the opinion of the survey, this property appears to meet the criteria of the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Ordinance.
This is one of this neighborhood's earliest and most intact commercial buildings, dating from the early days of the Fremont Avenue streetcar line. It is also notable for its Spanish Revival-influenced detailing , with red tile roofs and stucco cladding, unusual in Seattle buildings of this era. The leaded glass windows are also unusual for this type of small commercial building. In the 1930s-40s the building housed the Redwood Grocery and the Fremont Avenue Shoe Hospital. Later tenants included a cabinet shop, a radio repair store, a beauty parlor and an art gallery.

Appearance
This two-story stucco-clad building has a red tile roof between the two floors, over the four storefronts. The storefronts are in largely original condition, with recessed entries, wood-and-glass doors, wood sash and transoms of leaded glass. The second floor has two semihexagonal bays that rest on the first-floor roof; these bays also have red tile roofs. The second floor windows are one-over-one double-hung wood sash; the sides of the bays have leaded glass casement windows. Asbestos cladding replaceds the original clapboard on the north elevation. The bulkhead is stucco, replacing the original tile.
