Significance
In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
Tax records indicate that this block was largely undeveloped prior to 1937. Two small farms existed here. This one had a garden and fuit trees. Some of the old plantings survive. This agricultural comples and its setting remind us of South Park's agrarian beginnings. A. L. Speece held title at one point early in the century. The 1915 City Directory indicates that [Speece] was also a bricklayer.
 
Appearance
This house is part of a complex of buildings located in the middle of the block bounded by Cloverdale Street, South Donovan Street, Eighth Avenue South and Tenth Avenue South. It consists of a one story board and batten cottage with wooden shingle roof and various sheds. The cottage has a gabled main mass with a lower hipped wing. It is accessed by an alley off Tenth Avenue South.
