This is a keystone building of the business district at the top of Queen Anne hill, located at the major intersection of Queen Anne Avenue North and Boston Street. It was built before 1906, making it one of the oldest commercial buildings in the district. It has always provided a wide variety of services and neighborhood retail businesses. Among the earliest tenants were the Standard Drug Company, Stelzner Meat Market, Roth Shoe Repair and Lawrence Bakery (before 1920). The drug store moved across the street as Salladay's Pharmacy, which survived into the 1990s. In the 1920s there was a radio shop, shoe and watch repair and the Standard Bakery. The bakery remained in the building until the 1990s, expanding into the large corner space. Tenants in the 1930s included Eba's Mutual Groceries and Guthmiller Meat Market. In recent years, tenants have been primarily restaurants. The upstairs originally had living quarters, which later became office space.

| Appearance |
| This rectangular two-story building is of wood frame construction, clad in red brick veneer. It is very simple, with the only ornament being small panels of concrete above the second floor windows. Pilasters are marked with a narrow band of sandstone. There is a wide cornice and, above the eastern half only, a square parapet. Second-floor windows have newer aluminum sash, which differ from the original configuration. Second-floor windows on the eastern section are considerably larger than those to the west. Storefronts have been somewhat modernized, but have original transom windows. The bulkhead on the corner storefront has been recently clad with stone. |
