Significance
This group of residential vernacular homes, constructed from 1903-1910, is significant due to the distinctive recessed arches utilized in the design of each. The architect(s) and builder(s) are unknown. It would appear that one contractor or builder was responsible for their construction. They were owned by a working class contingency which including a radio operator and laborer for the City Light Department. From the 1920’s until the 1940’s these houses did not change ownership. Early ownership is unknown.
 
Appearance
This group of residential vernacular houses is situated on the 5200 block of Brooklyn Ave NE. All of these houses contain recessed arches or varying types underneath the main front or side gable. The front entrance is to either the north of south side of the front elevation. Each house is or was clad in clapboard or horizontal wood siding. Several of the houses have been re-clad with vinyl siding. Several of the houses have a diminutive cross gable toward the rear.
