Historic Name: Associated Gas Common Name: Walt's Radiator Style: Commercial Neighborhood: Wallingford Built By: Year Built: 1927   Significance This is one of Seattle's few remaining gas stations from the 1920s. Although it has not been used as a service station for many years, it still has a related use--auto repair. It is largely intact, retaining its distinctive rounded eastern elevation, and still clearly has the appearance of a service station. The pumps and the canopy that covered them have been removed. The building was an Associated gas station from the 1920s through the 1950s. By 1967 it was no longer a service station, but was used as an auto parts store. It is now once again an auto repair facility.   Appearance The eastern portion of this small rectangular structure is intact, with a rounded form, a hip roof and large multipaned sash. Cladding is wood, with a metal roof. Some windows on the rear have been boarded up. The three service bays, on the west, appear to be largely similar to their earlier appearance, although they have been altered to some extent. They are clad in vertical wood siding, with corrugated metal on the rear.
