Historic Name: Westhome Bakery Common Name: Agult's King Fu
Style: Spanish - Mission Neighborhood: Morgan Junction
Built By: Year Built: 1924

Significance
This is one of the relatively few buildings in the area that evokes the Mission Revival style, with its arched parapet and stucco cladding. The parcel actually has four buildings, all dating from the mid-1920s. The most intact is the corner building (6057-59 California Avenue SW) in the Mission style. The two stores to the north are very small and have somewhat altered facades. The building to the west (4306-4314 SW Graham) has similar ornament to the corner building, and was built immediately afterwards, in 1925, with five storefronts. In 1943 the stores were converted to four apartments (later used by nurses at the nearby Kenny Home); it has a remodeled entry and is now used as apartments and/or offices. The corner building was constructed in 1924 with two storefronts. In 1937 the tenants were the Westhome Bakery and a pharmacy. In the 1950s there was a grocery and a meat market. It has housed a variety of small neighborhood businesses since then, and is now a martial arts studio. The current address is 6053 California SW, although it was originally 6057-59 California SW.

Appearance
This corner building has a Mission-style arched parapet over each of the two storefronts and over the display window at the corner of SW Graham Street. Cladding is stucco, with a decorative brick circle in each arch. The cornice is capped with concrete, painted to contrast with the cream-colored stucco. The storefronts are intact with recessed entries and wood-framed display windows with transoms. The tile bulkhead has been painted to match the stucco. A metal canopy (not original) shelters the storefronts. At the rear of the building is a small CMU addition, added in 1958.
