Significance
George Millroy constructed this Craftsman house in 1911. George B. Rigg, a University of Washington professor, his wife Maria and daughter Charlotte, a student at UW, lived in the house from 1916 to at least 1937. The house is significant as a Craftsman house in a neighborhood with relatively few intact houses.
 
Appearance
This one and a half story Craftsman house is situated on the lot facing east. The house is clad in wood shingle and had a gabled roof. The main first floor elevation has a porch that spans the entire width of the house. A series of three double porch posts with river rock piers support the front porch. The stairs to the front porch are flanked by matching river rock piers and additional piers are located in the front of the house. A diminutive railing runs between the porch posts. The porch roof has exposed brackets. The second story front elevation has a shed dormer with a series of four windows with single sash below and decorative multi-paned upper panes above. The south facing elevation has a first story bay window with shed roof. The windows on the other elevations are in groups of two or three with single sash below and decorative multi-paned upper panes above.
