Constructed ca. 1905, this one-and-a-half-story single-family residence features a rectangular plan and a four-square form. The building fronts Valley Street.
The site slopes downward from north to south. There are several trees along the north and east sides of the house. A sidewalk and planting strip extend along the south side of the lot.
The building has a hip roof clad with asphalt composition shingles. A single dormer projects off the front roof slope as an extension of the main roofline. The main and dormer roofs feature broad open eaves with exposed rafter ends. The main roof has a slight flare along the eaves. An internal brick chimney services the building.
A concrete block foundation supports the platform frame structure. The outer walls feature a slight outward flare along the base of the walls. Asbestos shingles clad the front south, east and west facades with corner boards at some outer corners. A square bay projects off the front facade and is set below the main roofline.
Windows consist of 1:1 double hung wood sash units. Upper sash have stile extensions to strengthen the meeting rail joint. Windows occur in single and triple groupings. All feature wood casings and sills, with wood mullions at the triple grouping.
The front entrance consists of concrete and wood stairs with an intermediate landing between the two, leading up to a recessed front porch. The porch has an L shape that extends along the east side facade. A series of five piers, with decorative trim at their capitals, support the outer edge of the roof above the porch. A solid railing extends along the front and east sides of the porch. The porch features a wood soffit.
Alterations include a shed roof addition off the rear (north), with a recessed back porch. Asbestos shingles over clapboard were installed by 1958.
