This residential vernacular house is significant as one of the oldest houses, built in 1901, extant in the Brooklyn area. The architect and/or builder are unknown. Bradner A. and Elizabeth D. Knapp lived in the house from 1901 until 1937. Bradner A. Knapp was the accountant to the City of Seattle Treasurer. After the Knapps, the house changed hands many times.

| Appearance |
| Built in 1901, this diminutive vernacular house is sited facing west on its lot. It is also reminiscent of simple folk Victorian style houses. The house has a cross gabled roof. The siding is clapboard and retains its original appearance. The entrance is on the front elevation of the side gable. There are two fixed windows with leaded glass upper sashes; one window is on the front gable, and one window is next to the front door on the side gable. There is a single, double-hung window on the half story of the front gable. A small shed roof supported by brackets covers the front entrance; the shed roof replaced a small, hipped roof that had originally been supported by a decorative turned porch post. Part of the front porch has been removed. The front door is probably original to the house. |
