This house is significant because it is an excellent, intact unstylized version of the American Foursquare. It contributes to our understanding of vernacular architecture and to the hisotric streetscape. Little is known of its hisotry at this writing except that it appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map.
 
Appearance
This house is an outstanding example of a simple, unstylized folk version of the American Foursquare. It has a hipped roof and a full width hipped porch supported by square columns. Windows are one-over-one double hung wooden sashes. The asymmetrical entrance shares the first floor façade with a large single light decorative window. Hipped and shed roof additions extend to the rear. According to an elderly neighbor, this house was moved to this lot from the adjoining lot at Rose and Eighth Avenue prior to 1950. This house and its setting contribute to the historic streetscape and this house to our understanding of vernacular architecture.
