Permit Status Search
Check the status of a Fire Permit issued by the City of Seattle. To execute a search, just enter a partial Name and/or Address in the form below.
Name: Individual or Company name under which the Permit was issued.
Address: Where the business activity occurs that is covered by the Permit
-- Street = ST, Avenue = AV, Way = WY, Directions = N, S, NW, SE, etc.
-- Do not use a period (".") after abbreviations.
-- Examples: E PINE ST or 1234 56 AV S or 1234 NE CodeRed RD
Each permit and permit application will have a permit status assigned to it depending on where it is in the approval process. The status categories and their descriptions are as follows:
Processing - Permit application information and fee payment are being entered into the database and a file is being created by Permit Unit staff.
Pending - Temporary permit application has been put on hold awaiting request from customer for inspection.
Inspection - Permit application has been assigned to an inspector and the inspector has started actively inspecting the facility for compliance with Fire Code provisions.
F6/NOV - Written notification of the corrections that are necessary before the permit can be issued has been forwarded to the applicant.
Approved Haz Mat - The inspector has approved the permit for issuance.
Issued - An annual permit has been issued and is in the first year.
Renewed - An annual permit has been renewed for the current year.
Renewal Sent - An invoice for renewal of an annual permit has been forwarded to the permit holder but payment has not yet been received.
Compliance - Permit application has been forwarded to Compliance Unit for inspection and issuance.
Special Events - Special Events permit application has been forwarded to Special Events Unit for review and issuance.
Hazmat - Hazmat annual permit application has been forward to Special Hazards Unit for inspection and issuance.
Cancel - An annual permit has been cancelled.
