Summary: Small business is important to Seattle and to the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI). If your business is moving into a new space or expand-ing in your current location, you are likely to need a use and building permit from SDCI. “Use” is the activity and occupation within a building or portion of building, such as retail or auto repair.
